About the Event

“It's not what you think, allow me to clarify“ ist ein Tanzstück, das einen Dialog über Umsiedlung, Flucht und Migration eröffnet - insbesondere für Menschen aus Entwicklungsländern und People of Color in Zeiten verschärfter Einwanderungspolitik. Das Stück lenkt den Blick auf „die andere Hälfte unserer Realität" – auf Menschen aus zerstörten Nationen, die sich von kolonialen Unruhen und korrupter Führung erholen und dabei einen Keim von Potenzial, Ressourcen und Neubeginn in sich tragen.

Yasmine Calasse beschäftigt sich konsequent mit den Folgen des Kolonialismus und nimmt mit ihrem Team eine differenzierte Perspektive auf das Thema Migration ein, entlarvt Stereotype und hinterfragt die Logik des „White Saviourism".
