5 String Theory ist das Soloprojekt des experimentellen Geigers Alexey Kochetkov, der die Möglichkeiten der Symbiose von Violine und Computer erforscht und innovative neoklassische sowie Ambient-Musik kreiert. Er verarbeitet den Ton seiner Geige mit zahlreichen Effekten und Loops und kreiert hypnotische Klangwelten, die die jahrhundertealte Violintradition mit zeitgenössischer Ästhetik verbinden.

Um das Erlebnis zu vertiefen, arbeitet Kochetkov mit dem Komponisten und Raumklangforscher Andrey Bundin zusammen. Mit Hilfe von vier unabhängigen Lautsprechern, die strategisch im Konzertbereich platziert sind, schaffen sie ein immersives Hörerlebnis und lassen ein ganzes Geigen-Elektro-Orchester zum Leben erwachen, das den Zuhörer in ein faszinierendes Klanggeflecht einhüllt.

Das Konzert findet in der 1905 erbauten Taborkirche im Wrangelkiez in Kreuzberg, dem ehemaligen West-Berlin, statt. Das Kirchengebäude erlitt nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs nur geringe Schäden, wobei die Innenausstattung nahezu vollständig erhalten blieb. Die einzigartige Atmosphäre und die hervorragende Kirchenakustik verleihen diesem einmaligen Konzerterlebnis eine zusätzliche Dimension.

5 String Theory is the brainchild of experimental violinist and composer Alexey Kochetkov, who explores the possibilities of violin and computer symbiosis and creates innovative neo classic and ambient music.Treating the violin as a synthesizer of a kind, he processes it with numerous loopers and effects, sculpting otherworldly soundscapes that seamlessly unite the instrument’s centuries-long tradition with contemporary sonic aesthetics.

Taking this idea one step further, Kochetkov joins forces with Andrey Bundin, a composer and researcher specializing in spatial sound.Utilizing four independent speakers strategically positioned around the concert area, they craft an immersive listening experience, bringing to life a whole violin-electronic orchestra that engulfs the listener in a mesmerizing sonic tapestry.

The concert will take place in the Tabor Church, built in 1905 and located in Wrangelkiez, Kreuzberg, formerly West Berlin. The church building sustained only minor damage after the end of the Second World War, with the interior almost entirely preserved. The unique setting and outstanding acoustics, typical of a church, add an extra layer to this unique concert experience.
