THE POLARITY PARTY is a participatory choreographic event examining polarization.

With no dancing. But all of the sensation.

Led by the MichaelDouglas Kollektiv and Dana Caspersen, The Polarity Party integrates practices from the fields of both choreography and conflict engagement. The event invites participants into an experience that is both intimate and analytical, using physical action as a way to organize ideas and make thoughts visible.

There will be:

no observing audience.

many perspective shifts and mental scene changes.

deep dives into highly structured conversation with others.

the use of simple arm gestures and physical sensation as forms of collective inquiry.

a surprise finale created by you (with no embarrassing audience participation).

no dance or physical skill required.

The questions we will explore:

what is polarization?

how does polarization affect us as individuals and communities?

how do our actions impact the levels of polarization in the world?
