HANE Salon, a new series of live concerts, listening sessions, and culinary interventions that take place in the cozy foyer of SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA, warmly invites you to an evening with Sousourada. A four-piece band based in Berlin, Sousourada plays Greek rebetiko and laïko—the urban folk music of Greece that tells stories of love, heartbreak, migration, late nights, and everyday life. These songs were first played in small tavernas and smoky rooms, where people would eat, drink, chat, dance, or simply come together.

While the band plays, guests are welcome to enjoy our delicious meze plates which will be available from the bar throughout the evening. Made with love in-house, we invite you to break bread over a shared love of music, conversation, and food.

Sousourada is Maritina (vocals), Mímis Sandalis (double bass), Nikos Giolas (bouzouki + vocals), and Thanos Sakellaridis (guitar + vocals).

Susanna Pavlidis works in cultural marketing and talent management with a focus on music and is, among other roles, Head of Marketing at Heimathafen Neukölln. She has Greek and Pontic Greek roots and, in her curatorial practice, focuses on connecting traditional influences with contemporary diasporic perspectives. Her work centers on community, accessibility, and the support of emerging voices, creating spaces for exchange, encounter, and layered narratives.

Sousourada ist eine vierköpfige Band aus Berlin, die sich dem griechischen Rebetiko und Laïko widmet – der urbanen Volksmusik Griechenlands. Diese Musik erzählt von Liebe und Verlust, von Migration, langen Nächten und vom Leben selbst.

Entstanden sind diese Lieder einst in kleinen Tavernen und verrauchten Räumen, wo Menschen zusammenkamen, um zu essen, zu trinken, zu tanzen und Geschichten zu teilen. Genau diese Atmosphäre greift Sousourada auf und bringt sie auf die Bühne zurück. Mit Wärme, Direktheit und großer Nähe zum Publikum lässt die Band die Lieder so erklingen, wie sie vielleicht schon immer gedacht waren: ehrlich, lebendig und voller Gefühl.

Susanna Pavlidis arbeitet im Bereich Kulturmarketing und Talent Management mit Fokus auf Musik und ist u. a. Head of Marketing am Heimathafen Neukölln. Sie hat griechisch/pontisch-griechische Wurzeln und legt in ihrer kuratorischen Praxis Wert darauf, traditionelle Einflüsse mit zeitgenössischen, diasporischen Perspektiven zu verbinden. Ihr Fokus liegt auf Community, Zugänglichkeit und der Förderung neuer Stimmen sowie darauf, Räume für Begegnung, Austausch und vielschichtige Narrative zu schaffen.
