Über die Veranstaltung

SANCTUM OF SOUND IS A MUSICAL FORUM FOR LISTENERS OF SACRED SOUND IN MAHALLA.

Curated and produced by the MaHalla team, Sanctum of Sound takes place on the first Sunday of every month, it offers a space for deep listening and sonic exploration.

The next edition unfolds on Sunday, June 1st from 12 PM to 10 PM, featuring performances by Aura of Indigo, Feedback Orchestra, Elder Star & 5 String Theory, The Four and daisytwo.

___________

daisytwo

daisytwo is a Bavarian-born producer, DJ, and sound designer who navigates the tension between raw energy and introspective depth.

His sonic world is built on fragmented rhythms, textural immersion, and the hypnotic pull of dystopian soundscapes, where echoes of sci-fi IDM, ethereal ambient, and bass-heavy DnB collide.

For his Sanctum of Sound premiere, daisytwo invites listeners into an immersive ambient journey, a slow burning, cinematic meditation where texture becomes narrative.

Expect deep sonic layers, subtle rhythmic pulses, and haunting melodies emerging from the quiet. This set is an invitation to pause, sink into sound and explore the space between tension and release.

Elder Star & 5 String Theory

A psychedelic duo, Elder Star, made up of jazz pianist Stav Goldberg and sound designer Shai Lavi, meets 5 String Theory, the solo project of experimental violinist Alexey Kochetkov. Their music is rooted in free-flowing improvisation, embracing spontaneous communication between the artists as they compose in real time. Together, they create an enchanting listening experience that sweeps the audience away on a whimsical sound journey.

Aura of Indigo

Aura of Indigo - Sonic Puja is an intuitive journey of sound, where musicians and listeners merge in a meditative space. A deep sense of connection to the inner source and the universal creation unfolds.

Konstanze Näther, Bertolt W. Schieferstein, Dana Leichsenring and Arda Aygün create a ritual sonic space using rare instruments such as the Sarangi, Santur, Ransingha, frame drums, and soulful vocals.

Guided by intuition, place, and audience, composed and improvised elements flow together – Sonic Puja is less a concert and more an invitation to inner stillness and mystical experience.

The Four

For each Sanctum of Sound, Music Ashram puts together a 4-piece formation of guest musicians and members of the Ashram. Music Ashram is the brand ensemble from MaHalla, where the intention of Sanctum of Sound meets the current explorations of the Cultural Center. Acousmatic Sounds, experimental beats, traditions, instruments and worldwide performing techniques are expressed through the unique essence of Music Ashram.

Feedback Orchestra

The Feedbackorchestra (FBO) was founded in Berlin in 1999 and consists of 8 electric guitarists who work exclusively with feedback. The music of the FBO is very concentrated and meditative on the one hand, yet at the
same time has a very impressive physical presence, often drawing comparisons to various forces of nature by the audience.

It's a constantly and slowly rolling stream of vibrations, frictions, and rising and falling walls of sound in which tones and harmonies constantly attract, break, and find each other again.

The orchestra is always arranged in a circle to ensure the closest possible contact between the players, while the audience can freely move around this circle to listen to the music from different positions.
