Audiovisual and music theater.

7pm

pierSing is a voice-and-video piece by soprano and composer Katia Guedes and visual artist Lucas Bambozzi. Born from the flood of online faces and sounds during quarantine, the work transforms intimate self-images into a collaborative remix where sound and image pierce and reshape each other. What begins in domestic isolation evolves into a hybrid form between music and cinema, as external voices and environments penetrate the performance, culminating in a layered coda that entwines both artists’ languages. Based in Berlin, Katia Guedes specializes in contemporary music theatre and has premiered works by composers such as Klaus Lang, Chico Mello, and Lucia Ronchetti. Lucas Bambozzi is a São Paulo–based media artist and researcher whose installations and films have been presented at MoMA, ZKM, and the
Pompidou Centre. Together, they explore the tension between presence, mediation, and transformation in audiovisual performance.

8pm

SHOUTING INTO THE WIND - Katia Guedes and Paul Budraitis premiere the new Musik Theatre performance SHOUTING INTO THE WIND.

Katia Guedes is a Brazilian soprano based in Berlin, recognized for her work in contemporary music theatre, opera and for premiering compositions by artists such as Lucia Ronchetti and Elena Mendoza.

Paul Budraitis is a Berlin-based director and performer, trained at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, whose solo and collaborative projects explore the intersections of theatre, voice, and experimental performance. SHOUTING INTO THE WIND marks the first joint creation between the two artists, merging music, performance, and visuals in a unique structure, with the collaboration of the duo MXM.
