Gesundheit und Genesung sind nicht nur medizinische, sondern auch tief kulturell geprägte Erfahrungen. In Film, Kunst und anderen kulturellen Ausdrucksformen spiegeln sich individuelle wie gesellschaftliche Vorstellungen von Krankheit, Heilung und Resilienz wider. In unserem Panel PROJECTING HEALTH & RECOVERY möchten wir darüber sprechen, wie wir als Schwarze Kulturschaffende die Gesundheit unserer Community reflektieren und welche Zukünfte durch filmische Projizierungen und weitere künstlerische Ausdrucksformen für unsere Gesundheit geschaffen werden können. Wie formen Filme unsere Sicht auf psychische und physische Gesundheit? Welche kulturellen Codes und Narrative begleiten Genesungsprozesse? Und kann künstlerische Darstellung selbst Teil eines Heilungsprozesses sein?

Health and recovery are not only medical, but also deeply cultural experiences. Film, art and other forms of cultural expression reflect individualand societal notions of illness, healing
and resilience. In our panel PROJECTING HEALTH & RECOVERY, we want to talk about how we as Black cultural practitioners reflect on the health of our community and what futures can be created for our health through cinematic projections and other forms of artistic expression. How do films shape our view of mental and physical health? Which cultural codes and narratives accompany recovery processes? And can artistic representation itself be part of a healing process?
