Als die 12-jährige Neneh an der renommierten Ballettschule der Pariser Oper aufgenommen wird, kann sie ihr Glück kaum fassen. Tanzen war schon immer ihre Leidenschaft. Als einziges Schwarzes Mädchen an der Schule merkt sie jedoch bald, dass sie es trotz ihres unbestrittenen Talents schwerer hat als ihre Mitstreiterinnen. Besonders die traditionsbewusste Direktorin Marianne Belage lässt Neneh spüren, dass sie nicht wirklich willkommen ist. Doch Neneh kämpft selbstbewusst weiter für ihren großen Traum.

When 12-year-old Neneh is accepted to the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet School, she can hardly believe her luck. Dancing has always been her passion. However, as the only black girl at the school, she soon realizes that, despite her undisputed talent, she has a harder time than her fellow students. The tradition-conscious headmistress Marianne Belage in particular makes Neneh feel that she is not really welcome. But Neneh continues to fight confidently for her big dream.
