About the Event

MILA MAR steht für eine universell phantastische Klangwelt, in der treibende Rhythmen, orientalische Synthesizerklänge, afrikanische Djembe-Trommeln und der beeindruckende Vier-Oktaven-Gesang von Anke Hachfeld zusammenfinden.

Ihre Musik erzählt archaische Geschichten, die ganz ohne verständliche Worte auskommen und tief in die Seele dringen. MILA MAR Konzerte sind kraftvolle, fast spirituelle Ereignisse, bei denen Hachfeld sich mit dem Publikum auf besondere Weise verbindet. Ihre Stimme, die Joik, eine alte samische Gesangskunst, sowie orientalische Kehlgesänge umfasst, wird zu einem wandelbaren Instrument.

Gegründet 1994 in Göttingen, veröffentlichte die Band 1997 ihr erstes Album und spielte in den folgenden Jahren auf zahlreichen Touren und Festivals in ganz Europa. Nach einer längeren Pause kehrte die Band 2015 in erweiterter Formation zurück. Mit ihrem fünften Studioalbum Harar im Jahr 2019 und der aktuellen Veröffentlichung Songs from the Other Side bei Dryland Records 2024 knüpfen sie an ihre einzigartige musikalische Reise an.
