About the Event

KTYB | Berlin Debut

Born in 1993, KTYB – widely known as Katybon – has emerged as a pivotal figure in Tunisia's alternative music scene. Influenced by his father’s love for reggae, funk, and soul, KTYB cultivated a distinct style that seamlessly blends these foundational genres with the dynamic energy of hip-hop. His music stands as a testament to innovation, merging intricate lyricism with genre-defying beats to create a sound that is both authentic and revolutionary.

KTYB first gained attention in 2008 through collaborations with a variety of artists, showcasing his creative versatility and natural talent. Despite his young age at the time, he quickly established himself as a rising star with his bold freestyles and compelling narratives. With a proven track record of captivating live performances, KTYB continues to set new standards for creativity and originality in the music industry.KTYB’s performance is a testament to his role as one of Tunisia’s most influential artists, offering a rare opportunity to witness a defining moment in contemporary music.
KTYB has performed at Tunisian festivals like "Mad Fest," "Jaw," and "Dream City," as well as the "Midane Festival" in Lebanon. and the summer of 2024, he headlined the Tunis sur Seine festival in Paris.

Kokym

Kokym was born and raised in occupied Palestine. At 13, he taught himself to play keyboard, sparking a passion for songwriting and storytelling, often inspired by life under occupation. In 2015, Karam moved to Istanbul to study Arabic music at the Arab Music Institute, led by Syrian musician Maher Na’ana’a. A year later, in 2018, Karam created “Fallahi Pop,” a genre blending modern music with traditional Palestinian melodies and rural accents. His first single, released in April 2018, marked the rise of his fresh sound and gained instant popularity. In July 2019, he released his debut EP, Kufur El Tuffah. After enduring the 2021 war in Palestine, Kokym released a tribute track that became a massive hit within Palestinian communities. On March 1, 2024, Kokym released his second EP as a protest album, continuing his rise as a professional artist.
