Im Jahr 2022 kommen fünf Filmemacher:innen – Anas Saeed, Rawia Alhag, Ibrahim Snoopy Ahmad, Timeea Mohamed Ahmed und Phil Cox – zusammen, um die Geschichte von fünf Einwohner:innen von KHARTOUM zu erzählen: Lokain und Wilson, Flaschensammler; Khadmallah, eine Kellnerin; Jawad, ein Freiwilliger im Widerstandskomitee, und Madji, ein Beamter. Im April 2023 bricht Krieg aus, der mehr als zehn Millionen Menschen in die Flucht treibt. Die Protagonist:innen erzählen von ihren Erfahrungen mit Revolution, Konflikt und Exil sowie von ihren Träumen. Dieses Gemeinschaftswerk ist eine Hommage an die Widerstandskraft des menschlichen Geistes und die erlösende Kraft der Kreativität. Der Film wurde bei der Berlinale 2025 mit dem Friedensfilmpreis ausgezeichnet.

In 2022, five filmmakers – Anas Saeed, Rawia Alhag, Ahmad, Timeea Mohamed Ahmed and Phil Cox – come together to tell the story of five inhabitants of KHARTOUM: Lokain and Wilson, bottle collectors; Khadmallah, a waitress; Jawad, a volunteer with the resistance committee; and Madji, a civil servant. War breaks out in April 2023, displacing more than ten million people. The protagonists share their experiences of revolution, conflict and exile, as well as their dreams. This collective work is a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and the redemptive power of creativity. The film was awarded the Peace Film Prize at the Berlinale 2025.
