Theresia Philipp tritt als Bestandteil der deutschen Jazzszene sowohl als Leaderin als auch als Sidewoman in Erscheinung. Sie ist außerdem als Komponistin sowohl für kleine Besetzungen als auch für Big Bands tätig, zuletzt für die HR Big Band und den MDR Rundfunkchor.Sie fällt insbesondere mit ihrer Vielseitigkeit und klanglich eindrucksvollen Projektenauf, u.a. Pollon with Strings.Diese künstlerische Vielfalt wurde bereits2020 mit dem Kölner Jazzpreis und 2022 mit dem WDR Jazzpreis ausgezeichnet.Zudem ist sie Lehrbeauftragte an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. In ihrem musikalischen Wirken kam es u.a. zu einer Zusammenarbeit mit Pablo Held, Sunna Gunnlaugs, Pape Samory Seck, Jim Black, Lionel Loueke, Shannon Barnett, Julia Hülsmann, Jozef Dumoulin, Donny McCaslin, Charles McPherson, Dejan Terzic, John Taylor, Nils Wogram und vielen weiteren.Im Konzert stehen nun sowohl ihre Big Band-Kompositionen als auch ihre Ausdrucksstärke als Improvisatorin im Mittelpunkt.
