After a successful 6-date UK tour including a sold-out show at The Troubadour in London, she had hit the ground running, ready for more. If you listen very carefully, Kiki Annette can be heard wailing and dragging guitar cases across the world like the ghost of a murdered Victorian child. Made in the Netherlands, matured in Berlin and the UK, she has been given many honorary titles over the years. “Manchester’s Phoebe Bridgers,” “the mayor of the Berlin busking community,” “an artist Leonard Cohen would’ve envied”, or her favourite: “that girl with the voice.” Her favourite sources of inspiration are despair and French Cinema, so tears aren’t mandatory but much appreciated.
