About the event:

The ninth edition of the International Film Editors Forum (IFEF) will be held in-person on the 17th of October in Cologne, from 11:30 to 16:30, with a lunch included from 13:00 to 14:00.

The topic of this year's edition is: „Ethical Editing in the Age of AI“. Participants will share experiences about currently known ethical issues in working with machine learning tools, and try to anticipate future ethical challenges. They will work together to develop the building blocks for a Code of Ethics that could support film editors worldwide in sensitive situations pertaining to AI.

The IFEF is aimed at film editors who are actively involved in advancing their profession and its working conditions in their respective countries. Participants are given the opportunity to exchange their experiences, and together develop solutions that address the various challenges facing the profession all over the world. The facilitator is Christine von Fragstein.

In 2025, the IFEF attracted 52 editors from 28 different countries to Cologne.
