Participation fee to cover for lunch and tea time catering
The seventh edition of the networking event International Film Editors Forum (IFEF) will be held in-person on the 12th of October in Cologne, from 12:00 to 17:00, with a lunch included from 13:15 to 14:15.
In recent years, the IFEF has attracted editors from over 30 different countries to Cologne, including far-flung travelers from countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Gambia, India, Iran, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand and the USA.
The main topic this year is:
The role and value of the film editor in the production process
After last year's IFEF focused on artificial intelligence and its impact on the profession, the theme of 2024 builds on this in a sense, with a focus on the new realities in the context of budgeting and pay. Is the actual value of the work of film editors reflected in their status, salaries and production planing? Does their role need to be redefined for the future in order to preserve the profession in the long term?
The IFEF is aimed at film editors who are actively involved in advancing their profession and its working conditions in their respective countries. Participants are given the opportunity to exchange their experiences, and together develop solutions that address the various challenges facing the profession all over the world. Elements of the workshop format „world café“ are used. The facilitator this year is Margret Albers.
Participation is only possible with prior registration and limited to a maximum of three people per country. Please register by 7 October 2024 using this registration form: http://edimotion.de/en/information-in-english/ifef-application/
