GASWERK MUSIC DAYS 2026 - AFROSONIC LINEAGE I
On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, Gaswerk Music Days explores African and diasporic sound practices across traditional roots, contemporary forms, and forward-looking reinterpretations. Drawing from its connection with Nyege Nyege and ongoing exchanges - including Gaswerk artists’ presence in Kampala and new collaborations developed through the 2026 residency program - the program unfolds as a space of encounter, transformation, and shared creation.

Live music, DJ configurations, and the Radical Music Lab intersect throughout, moving fluidly between individual artistic languages and newly emerging material shaped during the residencies. Bands, ensembles, and hybrid formats coexist, opening a field where original works and new collaborations meet in real time.

Across gART.n and BLOCK1, the two days move between moments of intensity and release, collective energy and focused listening - grounded in rhythm, experimentation, and the pleasure of being moved together.

RADICAL MUSIC LAB
Radical Music Lab brings together artists from the Gaswerk Music Residency program in a high-energy, open-format performance. Built around a shared, extended DJ setup - with turntables, CDJs, MCs, and live instrumentation - the format moves fluidly between back-to-back sets, live interventions, and spontaneous collaboration. What begins from a DJ-based structure quickly expands into something more unpredictable and collective, showcasing newly developed material and the connections formed during the residencies. Taking place open air in the gART.n, the Lab unfolds as an intense, evolving session - vibrant, collaborative, and deeply rooted in the live moment.
Across 25 and 26 July, Radical Music Lab will feature contributions from: Jokwiz, Jay Mitta, Maganda Shakul, Mc Yallah, Catu Diosis, Rhythms of Prescott, Romain Azzaro, Dylan Greene, Mariel Loah, … With more TBA.

GASWERK MUSIC DAYS
Gaswerk Music Days returns in summer 2026 for its fourth edition, continuing its dynamic growth as a community-rooted festival dedicated to Radical Live Music.
Across two consecutive weekends (July 24 - August 2), the festival invites audiences to six eventful days filled with a diverse program of live concerts and other special formats.

Organised by Gaswerksiedlung Berlin, the festival unfolds across the open-air gART.n, the concert venue BLOCK1, and the surrounding creative studios - spaces that are not neutral containers, but active participants in the music-making process.

As a festival made by musicians for music lovers, open minds and curious ears, the event unites experimental electronics, African sounds, jazz, noise, avant-pop, kraut, improvisation and dance music under its “Radical Live Music” flag, binding and crossing genres in a program with over 30 acts on 2 stages.

In connection with the festival, we also organise the Spring and Autumn Gaswerk Music Concert series and other initiatives, expanding the movement into new formats and locations across Berlin.

Guided by curiosity and supported by a growing audience, we celebrate those who take risks and push boundaries, creating spaces for exchange, fostering diversity, and offering a proud alternative to a mainstream-dominated music ecosystem.
