Über die Veranstaltung

Drink Deep (Berlin) - DC style Hardcore A person once said their music was like the missing link between Minor Threat and Embrace. Drink Deep is a new band based out of Berlin and their music blends the fast, raw and melodic sounds of early harDCore punk.

Featuring members of Praise, Remission, No Longer At Ease and The Fog, they hail from three different continents and shortly after coming together released a demo tape last year on SFR. An eight song 7” and playing as much as possible within Europe are part of DD’s 2023 agenda.

Feverchild (Belgium) - emo / post hardcore

A lot of bands reference the 90s when it comes to their inspirations. It’s rare however to find a band that followsthrough and nails the sound, vibe and aesthetics. Feverchild (BE) delivers though, with carefully composed, melancholic and driving emo / indie tracks that hint at early Jimmy Eat World, Mineral and The Get Up Kids.Their debut EP immediately earned them a deal with the Texas based Sunday Drive label, and that’s just the first chapter of their story.

Spite House (Canada) - emo / post hardcore

Coming from Montreal, Canada, Spite House's mix of barreling music and rough but strong vocals evoke 90s indie-punk bands like Samiam and Seaweed that they cite as influences, even though the record has a polished, reverb-aided sound that puts them in line with some of the more mainstream 90s alt-rock–influenced bands on their label New Morality Zine.

Much of the material on Spite House Self-Titled album deals with the sudden death of vocalist Max Lajoie’s mother in 2019, and the trio’s chosen method to break open this incredibly tough subject is catchy, cathartic, but quite serious punk rock, best exemplified by the record’s initial three-song sprint.

Spark (Köln) - melodic hardcore

Consistently looking within, questioning, and finding solutions to become a better person is an overall theme Spark has established in their music. On their first LP, “Supernova”, vocalist, Andy Villhauer dials on these themes from song to song, expressing rage for the way things are and encouraging positivity and growth. There’s truly a “Supernova” of emotions heard throughout the LP, with the backing of decades of influences of hardcore—from the sounds of DC’s revolution summer to the straight edge revival of the late 90s–early 00s. Andy, Fabian, Yannick, Chris and Jonas are at their strongest here, creating dynamic, expressive and melodic hardcore.
