About the Event

The concert series "Gaswerk Resident Night" (part of Gaswerk Music Concerts) is dedicated to artists who share a strong connection with the Gaswerksiedlung and our festival, Gaswerk Music Days. Our goal is to provide them with a regular stage at our venue, BLOCK1 - a space for musical experimentation, new concepts, and exciting collaborations.

On this special evening, Das Ende der Liebe will collaborate for the first time with Hania Luthufi, creating a new and captivating sonic world. Their artistic synergy promises an intense, atmospheric experience blending sound, emotion, and experimentation.

The night will be crowned by powerful live visuals from Lucas Grey, transforming the space into a fully immersive audiovisual journey.

DAS ENDE DER LIEBE
Das Ende der Liebe (short: DEDL) was founded in Cologne in 2014. The band, consisting of Andreas Völk (guitar, vocals, FX), Laurenz Gemmer (prepared Yamaha CP-70 stage piano, melodica, laptop), Kenn Hartwig (double bass, electric bass, KW radio, circuit bending), and Thomas Sauerborn (drums), is dedicated to a style of music that merges the structure of electronic dance music with the freedom of improvisation and a modern sound aesthetic. Their music oscillates between the borderlands of electronic, krautrock, psychedelic rock, experimental pop, and abstract sound experiments.

HANIA LUTHUFI
Hania Luthufi is a Sri Lankan-born singer, composer and improvisor currently based in Hamburg. Her work is a woven archive of devotion to folk song, jazz, free improvisation and raga music lineages. Moving image, installations, gestural choreography and painting are layered into her expanded practice, heightening the possibilities of situational spontaneity. Besides live performances, she crafts soundscapes for films and documentaries.

Lucas Grey's artistic work focuses on the interaction between people and the artwork itself, questioning the status quo of art consumption. He explores this by creating large-scale, interactive installations that invite visitors to challenge and redefine their sensory perceptions.
