Two heavyweights of Latin American dance music step into the ring.

In one corner: CUMBIA – born on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, travelling across the continent and mutating along the way. From Colombian classics to psychedelic Peruvian sounds, Mexican sonidero culture and beyond.

In the other corner: SALSA – shaped between the Caribbean and New York, carrying son, guaguancó, mambo, boogaloo and countless other currents into a sound that travelled back across the Americas.

A true MANO A MANO between two Latin-American giants, represented by four DJs playing entirely on vinyl.

But hey! This is no battle about which music is better: cumbia and salsa have never existed inside neat borders. Both are stories of movement, migration and exchange – music constantly reshaped as records, rhythms and people travelled between cities, countries and continents.

So expect classics alongside deeper cuts, with the lines between the two corners becoming increasingly blurry as the night moves on.

And because this first edition falls around Día del Amor y la Amistad, there can only be one winner anyway: The Dancefloor.
