About the Event

Eine dunkel-melodiöse Wolke umhüllt einem die Sinne, nachdem der letzte Ton des brandneuen Albums «Nanztal» (VÖ 13.10.23) von BARANY verklungen ist. Aus den internationalen Kollaborationen mit den Produzenten Dan Austin aus UK (Massive Attack, Biffy Clyro) und re:dasein aus DE, sowie das Mastering-Mastermind Matt Colton aus UK (Thom Yorke, James Blake, Sampha) sind zehn ausgefeilte Songs über Einsamkeit, Heimat und Neuausrichtung entstanden. BARANY zeigt sich noch ausgeklügelter, vielfältiger und gewagter als auf ihrem vorherigen Album «Lights Disappear» (2019). Erinnerungen an Portishead und Radiohead werden wach, aber die Tracks sind unverkennbar originell. Das extravagante Songwriting spannt lange Harmonie-Bögen und folgt verschlungenen Plots und füllt einem die Brust mit Lebendigkeit und Echtheit. Ob neblig und fragil, oder unerwartet und explosiv - BARANY hat stets ein weiteres Ass im Ärmel. Sowohl im einen oder anderen Fall kann man sich in «Nanztal» angenehm verlaufen. Die Tür zu BARANYs Welt öffnet sich denen, die sich rückwärts hineinfallen lassen.
