EN Tunnel Visions, presented by Ark Noir, is the conception of young, local artists, out to prove themselves in Munich’s growing musical subculture. This festival brings artists together with listeners in search of distinct moods in music. The sound of Tunnel Visions mixes electronic and acoustic instrumentalists & vocalists for a vivid evening of contemporary music. After a two-year hiatus the event series comes back to celebrate the release of Ark Noir ́s 2nd studio album See You On The Other Side. It’s no secret that we’re living in troubling times. A pandemic has spread across the globe like wildfire, extreme weather events are becoming everyday occurrences, continuing incidents of police brutality have the world reeling, and many leaders in charge of enacting lasting change only seems to add fuel to the fire and widen the divisions in society. This album is our way of processing the insanity that we see in the news, our attempt to filter it through sound and hopefully find some meaning or solace. Electronic Alternative Experimental Jazz is how the Munich band Ark Noir describes their sound, which embodies a prototype of post-modern improvisational music. The five-member band might seem like a classic jazz quintet at first glance, but it’s sound is anything but conventional. Its music is sometimes raw and somber, other times rich in depth and texture, and in this way Ark Noir creates its own soundtrack from hypnotic beats and cineastic sonic worlds that invite one to get lost in the Here and Now!
