From the misty heights somewhere in the mountains, hidden and sheltered within thick, old walls – AFAR finished their new album. »The Refuge« is a collection of stories. Touching, drifting, driving. Soft and raw voices between rough synthesizer lines. Honest and vulnerable, bold and brave: A true journey, a real refuge. Four Years after premiering their very first album at Berghain Kantine, AFAR returns with their second long player to Munich’s Import Export! Support comes from Munich Local Heros Packed Rich & Miss Pearl, and DJ Lily Lillemor.

AFAR (Laut & Luise / Berlin):

Consisting of a collaboration between two musicians, AFAR seeks to bridge the distance between the natural and the industrial, exploring the paradox between organic and electronic. In some spaces, AFAR might build dance-oriented rhythms layered with haunting vocals. Whereas in others, the band creates moments of ambience composed of multi-instrumental soundscapes.

Packed Rich & Miss Pearl (Munich):

After a one-year hiatus, Packed Rich and Miss Pearl are back on stage together. Their tracks are accompanied by organic beats and rhythmic singing. What emerges from this lies somewhere between experimental RnB and hip hop.

Lily Lillemor (WUT / Munich):

Since childhood, beats and rhythm have been Lily’s constant companions. Growing up and playing drums, punk and hard rock were the most influential music genres for the Munich native and this can be heard in her bass-heavy and invigorating music.
