Mothering The Tongue ist eine Lecture Performance in der Adam Linder über die Praxis des "Freien Tanzes" und die Schichten der verkörperten Erfahrung nachdenkt. In einer spontanen Reaktion auf theoretische, kulturelle und persönliche Textfragmente sowie Musik von Bach bis Sinead O’Connor legt Linder alle Elemente seines choreografischen Schreibens in Echtzeit offen. Im Gegensatz zu seinen für Theater oder Ausstellungsräume entwickelten Stücken, die oft aufwendig inszeniert sind, ist Mothering The Tongue ein äußerst reduziertes Szenario, in dem er das Publikum mit in seinen mentalen Arbeitsraum eintreten lässt, der ihm den idealen Nährboden bietet, um die spannendsten und ehrlichsten Bewegungen entstehen zu lassen.
